Jared / Creative Director / Cast / Executive Producer

Jared Hoy has had a lifelong passion for storytelling and has been fortunate enough to turn that into an extensive career in film production as a producer, director, and cinematographer. Throughout the years he has gained an advanced knowledge of cinematic, television, and digital production, pre-production and post production, as well as the latest technologies, equipment, and software. Throughout a 20+ year career he has been a part of independent- and studio- funded projects, feature films, commercials, digital web content, VR, and music videos and has been fortunate enough to be a part of special guest appearances, including interviews and convention panels, around the world as an authority on production, cinematography, and transmedia storytelling.

His TTRPG obsession began in the early 2000s with a game of AD&D 2nd Edition and has not gone away since. Whether as a Game Master or a Player Character, Jared is at home with a set of polyhedral dice in hand. Agnostic in preference, Jared enjoys all gaming systems, “Why limit yourself in what game system you play in – I mean, c’mon, it’s your imagination. Have some fun with it!”

In early 2018, Jared was fortunate enough to bring his love of tabletop gaming and media production experience together when joining the Dragons and Things team as the director of photography and a network producer, even making his way onto the couch to become everyone’s favorite dwarven druid, Mug. Jared’s characters have a penchant for being a bit offbeat and eccentric, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Jared has guested and been involved with other channels and networks within the TTRPG space, such as SavingThrowShow, QuestsandChaos, and Dungeons & Dragons.
Currently, Jared GMs TheDaTNetwork’s Owl Creek Ridge and Bedlam & Discord and appears as Ooptsy the Goblin Champion on Heroic Endeavors. He also streams on his own Twitch Affiliate channel and produces the Bedlam & Discord podcasts. Across the socials you can find him @jaredhoy.
